The privacy of your data is important to us. WeScout GmbH (henceforth WeScout) will only ever access your account to help you with a problem or investigate a software defect. WeScout logs all access to all accounts by anonymized IP address, always being able to verify that no unauthorized access has occurred.
IDENTITY & ACCESS INFORMATION
WeScout uses only you email address to identify you. Further information, such as name, role, company or phone number is optional and voluntary. This information is only used to provide the service WeScout and will not be used for marketing purposes, either by us or third parties. We will never sell your personal information to third parties, and we will not use the information in marketing statements without your explicit permission.
In both cases, you should contact the person responsible at our customer, if you want to close your account.
If you are providing information about someone else, you must have the authority and the consent by the third party to do so.
When you use the WeScout application or the mobile applications, we collect some information to help with inquiries, software defects or unauthorized access. Furthermore, we collect statistical data on the marketing pages only.
Software health data is collected through varying tools and providers. We can provide you with the current list on request.
We collect and store content that you create, submit or upload as part of the service’s intention. This will include personal information in the form of authorship information. WeScout claims no ownership on the content data you create.
If you create content as part of your employment with a customer of WeScout, the content might be subject to further privacy policies. Please contact the responsible party at your company for any information regarding the handling of content data.
The customer needs to take care of any third-party ownership of the data prior to public publication of any data from WeScout, as users can submit third party data as part of regular usage (e.g. images from the web, website scrapes etc.).
STORAGE AND TRANSFER OF DATA
All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted between our infrastructure and your bowser or mobile application. While backups are always encrypted, live data will only be encrypted when technically feasible in a usable fashion.
The data is stored on servers in Germany, with some supporting systems being hosted within the EU, if no German data centre was available. Your data is therefore protected by German and EU law.
We continuously monitor and update our systems to secure your data as much as possible.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
Information is only shared in the following circumstances:
To provide service you have requested, with your permission (e.g. OAuth requests by other applications).
To investigate, prevent or act against illegal activities, suspected fraud, violations of our Terms of Service, or as required by law.
In case of acquisition by or merger with another company. You will be notified before any such action takes place.
WeScout will not share data with law enforcement unless a court order is in effect. Unless we are legally prevented from doing so, we will always inform you about any such requests concerning you.
This service is not directed to minors and we define minor with respect to the local law of the country the minor resides in. We do not knowingly collect any information from minors. If we become aware of minors using the service, we will take step to delete such information and try to inform the legal guardian.
Customers are responsible themselves to ensure no minors use the system or that they have the permission from a legal guardian to participate. We recommend to customers to get this permission in written form.
